M3 – coma corrector test

These are 2 shoots of the M3 cluster, the night was not so good, but I’ve used this time to test a cheaper coma corrector quality.
Each photo is a composition of 61x15sec shoots.
A special thanks to Davide Alboresi for lending me the Camera and filter.

  • Camera: Canon 700D fullspectrum
  • Scope: Enewton2 @1800mm
  • Filter: L-pro
  • CC ON / OFF
  • Messier 13

This is a photo taken during a calibration procedure of the telescope. It was working totally unguided. The shoot was at direct focus of the Newtonian so it was working at 0.33arcsec/pixel. Great result for an home made mount.

    M42 on Stellarvue AT1010

    The instrument was reviewed here

    • Location: Ghiro observatory
    • Instrument: Stellarvue AT1010
    • Camera: Canon 20D
    • Processing: Dss, Iris, Photoshop
    • Img 70x40sec @800iso
    • 35 Dark (no flat,bias)
This photo was taken during a PEM correction procedure, in the meanwhile why not try to take some shoots?
This the result, the moon, almost full was very near to the subject. This cheaper instrument works well, the main pain point is its  curved focal plane, bottom a detail of the angles before the cropping.

    M42 – close up

Started as a stunning night, but after a couple of hours, it began to cloud over. Anyway it was a good surprise to see the result of these shoots because the scope was unguided, the total drift can be honestly improved. No flat, bias and dark was taken

    • Location: Ghiro observatory
    • Instrument: Enewton2 (unguided)
    • Camera: ZWO ASI290MM
    • Filter: ZWO Filter Set L-RGB per ASI 1600 MM
    • Processing: Autostakkert, Iris, Photoshop
    • 240 X 1sec (each channel)
    • Total integration 12min

    Pleiades with sigma150mm

    • Location: Ghiro observatory
    • Instrument: sigma 150mm @f3.2
    • Mount: Enewton2
    • Camera: Canon 20D @800iso
    • Processing: DeepSkyStacker, Photoshop, Firecapture, PHD2
    • 40 frame (50s) – 50 dark – 42 flats – 41 bias
    • Integration: 40min

First test of autoguide with enewton and ZWO and sigma 150mm. No filter was used, so high light pollution cover the nebulosity.

    Elaborazione: DeepSkyStacker, Photoshop
